Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Broadsword are committed to creating a safe working environment for our staff, operatives and clients alike. We actively work with our supply chain to ensure that we continue to improve safety standards across all of our projects.
We frequently review our planning, methodology and processes to ensure a continually improved management system is driven throughout the business. Such progression allows Broadsword to often exceed main contractors and clients expectations regarding HSEQ.
We are proud of our health and safety record across all industry sectors, having no reportable RIDDOR accidents/fatalities within the last 10 years. We are CITB Registered, our workforce is 100% CSCS compliant. In addition to this we also implement the ‘right to work’ in the UK scheme for all current and future workers.
Health and Safety Training
We are committed to providing our clients with a correctly skilled, safety conscious workforce and currently have 25 no operatives and staff members undertaking various NVQS levels 2-7. Our on going review and management training system ensures that we are always providing our clients with a first class standard of both skills and safety management.
Our consistently evolving H&S training programme ensures that we have:
• 100% fully CSCS compliant Operatives onsite (fluctuating between 120-170)
• 15 – 20 no SSSTS trained supervisors on site
• 5-8 no SMSTS trained contracts managers
SSIP Accreditations
Our safety management system is fully accredited and we work closely with our external health and safety advisors who provide our managers and operatives with training i.e CITB directors roles, SSSTS, SMSTS, First aid training, face fit mask assessor training, asbestos awareness. Also providing external support, monthly site audits and accidents reports if required.
Broadsword currently holds the following SSIP accreditation’s:
• Achilles: Building Confidence – Level 4
• Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)
• CQMS Safety Scheme
• Fully compliant with Builders Profile and Constructionline supply chain management systems
