Meet the team
Directors
Tom Howse (Managing Director)
Tom is responsible for driving the business forward in all areas whilst ensuring all clients recieve a continued high level of service that encapsulates Broadswords ethics and passion for long term client relations.
Tom prides himself in his leadership skills and always takes time to understand all staff requirements from the board of Directors to our newest apprentice’s.
Tom has many years experience within the industry, holds a BSc (hons) Degree in Construction and is currently working towards an NVQ Level 7.
Dan Hosey (Commercial Director)
With over 20 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor Dan provides a wealth of knowledge and experience in all commercial situations. Dan oversees the commercial department on a day to day basis and works closely with the surveying and contracts teams.
Dan is known for an honest approach with attention to detail that assures our Clients of a sensible and equitable outcome. As the Commercial Director, he ensures that all company commercial procedures, systems and management are in place.
Dan holds a BSc (hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying and is currently working towards NVQ Level 7.
Mark Snelgrove (Operations Director)
Before joining the team Mark has gained experience in forming and developing companies within the industry. This knowledge and skill set has been vital in assisting the Group’s growth. Mark has been responsible for successfully developing a high performing, well regarded residential arm of the business whilst proving invaluable to the expansion of the rest of the Group.
Working closely with Tom, Mark is centrally involved in the direction of company and has an important influence over the finance and operations departments.
Mark holds a BA (hons) Degree in Business Management from Southampton University and is currently undertaking Construction NVQ Level 7.
Richard Robinson (Health & Safety Director)
Richard has managed screed companies for over 20 years. Over this time he has helped develop new products with manufacturers, built long term relationships with both suppliers and clients alike and gained a wealth of knowledge that enables him to offer expert advice regarding flooring solutions in nearly all circumstances.
Richards key traits are honesty and integrity, with a strong personal belief that If you gain peoples trust through your knowledge and experience they will remain loyal.
Since joining the group in 2014 Richard has been responsible for the screed department which has steadily grown due to the professionalism installed within his team.
Paul McInerney (Sales Director)
One of the longest serving members of the Broadsword Group, Paul’s initial role within the company was as an on site operative. Paul moved from site into the Broadsword office originally to assist with estimating and contracts, whilst gaining insight into the operational side of the business.
Paul’s experience across the business combined with his strengths and charisma are imperative in opening new doors for group, this appetite for success has naturally gravitated Paul towards assisting the development of the screeding department.
Paul is proud of everything the company has achieved to date and looks forward to continued, sustained success going forward.
Projects
Paul Harris (Operations Manager)
Paul oversees all of the company’s day to day operational activities, with over 20 years industry experience and a strong work ethic Paul works closely with the site management teams ensuring that the company has a well organised, highly motivated contracts department.
Paul’s commercial and operational knowledge ensures that we provide our staff and clients alike with a solid management structure whilst ensuring our commercial responsibilities are met.
Paul holds a current SMSTS Certification, a Director’s roles and responsibilities certificate and is working towards his Construction NVQ Level 6.
Scott Cann (Contracts Manager)
Scott is a key member of our contracts department. His thirst for knowledge of systems and installations allows him to successfully manage and overcome any onsite issues. Scott has the ability to manage multi trade projects and often becomes an integral part of a clients team ensuring the successful execution of some of the most challenging projects.
Scott’s dedication and sense of responsibility to both the company and our clients is a fine example of Broadswords company ethos.
Scott currently holds an SMSTS certification and is training towards an NVQ Level 6 in construction.

Commercial and Estimating
Liam Carr (Senior Estimator)
Liam has worked with Broadsword since 2011 starting as an estimator and buyer. Since that time he has built on his extensive product and industry knowledge to now leading the Projects estimating team, large ticket item purchasing and customer liaison.
Liam has worked in the industry for over 18 years working with distribution in external sales and management roles as well as working with specialist sub – contractors in the industry before finding his home at Broadsword. He has carried out numerous CPD training courses enabling us to achieve approved installer status with Metsec and SAS render, He is currently working towards Construction NVQ level 6.
Paul Rogers (Estimator)
Guy Banham (Trainee Estimator)
Intermediate Estimator working on and assisting with a range of Commercial & Residential Projects for a host of reputable contractors.
Duties include: Analysing tender documents, architect’s drawings and BOQ’s to accurately estimate the cost of projects including the associated supplemental costs and the expected profit, producing quantity take off’s, raising purchase orders, organising tenders in, assisting the Senior Estimator with pricing and cost management, liaising with suppliers and contracts, compiling supplier terms, preparing and sending quotations. Guy is also responsible for holding internal tender reviews and attending pre-let site meetings with Main Contractors.
Guy also has a hand in the internal operations and works closely with the Operations Director.
Guy is currently working toward his NVQ level 3 in Construction Management; Estimating.
Charlie Waters (Quantity Surveyor)
Charlie has a natural ability to quickly recognise and understand all project and client requirements, through his honest and hard working approach to Quantity Surveying. Charlie is already developing key long term customer relations founded on trust.
Charlie’s passion, good nature, sense of responsibility and willingness to succeed has meant he is well on his way to achieving an NVQ Level 6 and will no doubt become a key pillar in the Broadsword management structure.

Jamie Crocker (Contracts Manager)
Jamie manages all residential contracts. Since joining Broadsword in 2013 with the commercial division, his skill set and knowledge of the industry have enabled a smooth transition from commercial to residential management. With the ability to manage contracts in either sector Jamie has become an invaluable member of the team.
With over 20 years industry experience Jamie continually monitors and manages all on site labour operations, health & safety, procurement and distribution of materials to ensure that all contract requirements are met. Jamie is SMSTS Qualified, First Aid Trained and is currently undertaking an NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management.

Daphne Robinson (Accounts Assistant - Screeding)
Daphne works with the screed department to ensure that all of their financial responsibilities are met. Managing the companies administrative requirements and allowing the management team to concentrate on the operational dutys.
Daphne has over 25 years industry experience, having worked in similar roles previously. Daphne is adept at Excel spread sheets and prides herself on her organisation skills, she is a corner stone of the screed team.
Laura Baddams (Senior Administrator)
Screeding
Stuart Smith (Contracts Manager)
Stuart began his career working on site as a qualified Floor Screeder. After showing strong initiative and natural leadership skills Stuart accepted an offer to pursue a managerial role within the company. Stuarts organisation and leader skills have ensured that the company have built a reputation around service and quality
Having excelled in this role Stuart now heads up the operational requirements for Broadsword Screeding. Stuart currently holds an SMSTS certification and is working toward his NVQ level 6 in Construction Management.
James Sykes (Assistant Contracts Manager)
Having joined the team in 2015 James has gone from strength to strength. James’s main role is to assist Stuart in the day to day operational management of the screed division. His knowledge of products and systems have allowed James to become an essential part of the screed team and allow Stuart to concentrate on the overall management of the company.
James holds a current SSSTS Certification and NVQ level 4 in Construction Site Supervision.
Paul Corbin (Assistant Contracts Manager)
Paul has quickly become a valuable member of the contracts team ensuring that daily demands of our contracts managers are met. His knowledge of products and systems allows Paul to provide the contracts department with the support required to ensure that any day to day issues can be swiftly resolved. A dedicated member of the team Paul is always happy to assist with any project across the group.
Paul currently holds an SSSTS Certification, is a qualified face fit mask assessor, PAT tester and undertakes, manages all of the company’s PAT testing requirement’s.
Peter Woolhouse (Assistant Contracts Manager)
