What is the FIRAS Accreditation?
FIRAS is a third party certification scheme that verifies the competence of a contractor company to design fire protection systems. As a participant in the scheme we employ appropriately skilled design, supervision and operational staff who have been assessed.
- FIRAS certification is strictly controlled to cover only the trade disciplines assessed
- All FIRAS site inspectors have technical and practical knowledge and experience in fire protection
- Each FIRAS Certificated company is required to continue to demonstrate compliance with industry standards and material/product manufacturer installation instructions
- Many customers know little about how fire threatens their staff or business or what their legal obligations are
Case study:
Hackwood Homes Residential New Build
Holmwood is a £5.1m collection of 22 one and two bedroom apartments plus an additional 2 two bedroom houses in the heart of the New Forest.
The scope of the project, for long-term client Hackwood Homes, included specialist fire protection work to all risers and lift shafts, 60 minute fire compartmentalisation to all communal areas plus 30/60 minute encasement and intumescent spray to steel structure. A fully compliant Rockwool specified system was installed. This process was managed using state of the art Bolster reporting and upon completion a FIRAS compliant certification was issued to client.
With a package value of £35k, 2 FIRAS accredited operatives were used.
